Post by tdarlic »

Good day all

I have freshly installed Mint on Asus eee 1201 Atom 2 Gb ram machine and at first update software manager is returning below errors.

Am I doing something wrong? How to fix software manager?

Run the command `inxi -r` to see your entire repository configuration. See there are lines there that have "ubuntu" in the URL, but have "olivia" as the distribution name--which is the Linux Mint distribution name but this should of course instead be the Ubuntu package base distribution name--"raring". So, note from the `inxi -r` output which files have those problems and edit those files as root and replace "olivia" with "raring" on all lines that have "ubuntu" in the URL. That should fix it.

IDK how to edit a file as root on Xfce, but you can at least do it on the terminal by running `sudo nano filename`.

Thanks

I've updated the list, changed olivia to raring and it worked like a charm. My system is updated now...

Right click on file (in thunar) select open as administrator/root. Will open usually in gedit or mousepad with write privleges.

Edit P.S. can also chang it in synaptic package manager (settings>repositories)
