Duplicate Processes?

Hello,
...just noticing some duplication of "sleeping" processes in the system monitor.
Multiple processes such as dbus-daemon, dbus-launch, gnome-keyring-daemon and Thunar (there are more) are currently running, according to the system monitor (processes).
Now, I am viewing this information from a remote client (NXClient) and wonder if it's just a false-postiive because of the remote connection itself?
I suppose, as long as they are sleeping processes, that they do not consume cpu or much memory. I'm concerned because it is a low memory machine (256mb).
Thanks for any input!
