Mint 17.3 Xfce Whiskermenu problem

Post by linuxfreak » Thu Apr 21, 2016 4:57 pm

Hi,

I have a problem with my Mint 17.3 Xfce installation. My Whiskermenu does not have a shutdown button. Does anyone why this is? I even updated to version 1.5.3 and it does make no difference.

Anyone familiar with this problem?
Thanks!

Older Xfce but...
All I see is
Log Out, Switch Users, Lock Screen and All Settings.
You only see those as well?

Code: Select all

System:    Host: my-kungfu Kernel: 3.13.0-37-generic x86_64 (64 bit) Desktop: Xfce 4.11.8
           Distro: Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca

Add the action button to the panel.

right-click panel
-> panel
-> add new items
-> action buttons

After you add it,

right-click the action buttons
-> properties
-> unclick everything except shutdown

When you click the Logout button, you should then see your choices in the popup window.

WhiskerMenu, not panel people.

Logout button here did not prompt me for anything.

LinuxFreak - Mine is the same. Click on logout and another box pops up with the options to logout restart shutdown. So shutdown is available. Are you asking for a shutdown button direct on the menu in addition to the popup menu? I've no idea if it's possible, and it doesn't worry me as I've put a shutdown button on the panel, but someone else may know.

Edit: I've just re-read the replies above, and realise I've said the same as other posters. Apologies and I'll read more carefully in future
