Can size of update manager icon be increased in panel? [SOLVED]

I increased the height of the panel by adjusting the row size pixels in "panel preferences". The menu and launcher icons increased in size automatically with the panel, but the mint update manager icon on the right end of the panel does not change size. Is there any way to make that icon bigger to match the panel size?

The other icons on the right as well as window buttons also do not change size. I'd like those bigger too, but more concerned with making the update one more noticeable.

Sometimes all you have to do is play with the pixel size of the panel a little bit to watch the real time changes to determine when the icons will also change size. You may be just one or two pixels off . . :)

(Not all icon sets are created equal)

I'm at 47 and no change to the right side ones. If I go bigger they move into two rows. At 50 the window buttons also move into two rows, rather than ever increasing in size. I have panel set to allow one row, but some of the items do not obey that.

The panel size test didn't work. Have you tried a completely different icon theme ? to rule out any problem with the icon themes themselves ?

None of the icon themes under "Appearance" change the Mint update icon at all (or the dropbox icon) and the size stays the same.

I noticed that reducing the height of panel does shrink the mint update icon, but it seems like there are only two sizes and it changes when go from 22-23 pixels. Then there are no further size change all the way to maximum of 128 pixels. Window buttons also don't change size, they just start stacking as panel enlarges.

I'm using Mint 18.1, btw.

I found the solution for myself.

Right click on panel, in the "items" tab click on "notifications area". Then on the right side there is an option to edit the selected item (it's the icon just below the red X). This edit window has a maximum icon size specified and I had to increase that specification.

There is no icon size limit like this for the window buttons or other right side icons when I go the the edit window for those. But my main issue is resolved and updates will be much more noticeable now with my super-sized icon.
