Linux Mint 18.1 XFCE - Background Issue at Login
I recently installed the Xfce version of Linux Mint 18.1 on my laptop. The problem is that when it gets to the login screen, the background quickly cycles through the available wallpapers as I'm typing in my password and creating input lag as a result.

You can use the Login Window program (Menu > System >) to change the theme of the login window. I personally use one of the less-resource-hungry GDM themes, instead of the heavy HTML themes. Much quicker !
