Hello!
I have recently installed on a friend computer mint 18.1 cinammon (because I have the dvd for my own computer) then installed xcfe desktop for her.
Every was running nice, lovely nice
Until this morning she see the desktop destroyed (no panels and the one on the bottom is lost).
Then firefox bookmarks are empty!
images and another personal data in documents are fine.
I think it was some kind of problem updating?
can I check something?

Installing additional desktops on Mint causes problems. Many (myself included) will recommend you backup her personal data and do a clean reinstall.
If she wants XFCE, download the XFCE ISO and install Mint XFCE.
