Xscreensaver gliches over active workspace

Hello

I'm using Linux Mint 18 64-bit xfce.

Whenever my screensaver activates and I unlock my screen it keeps showing over my active workspace. It does not change and always looks just like it did at the moment of unlocking. Mousing over GUI/changing workspace clears it but just for a moment. It usually happens on just one of my nine workspaces but sometimes affects others as well.

Killing xscreensaver does not help. It happens even on just a screen lock.
