any way to do immediate standby? (SOLVED)

With Xfce Power Manager, the shortest period for system "Suspend" is 15 minutes. Is there a way I can put system in immediate suspend mode? Thx.

Here on my Linux Mint xfce, it would work this way:
[Menu] button > Logoff button in the upper right hand corner of the Whisker Menu > Standby.
Actually the "Logoff" dialogue offers the following actions: Logoff - Restart - Shutdown / Standby - Hibernation

XFCE's session manager has just the solution for you ... Just add a new "item" to your panel, pick a "Launcher" as that item's template, then enter the following commend

xfce4-session-logout -s

in the launcher's "Command" entry field. Tried & tested just now. (Note: my reply is based on the following forum post @ https://askubuntu.com/questions/164203/ ... em-command )

Thanks, guys. Even though I've looked at the whisker logout menu dozens of times, I forgot there's a button to Suspend. Duh. I went ahead and created a Suspend launcher icon in the system tray. Even better. I used the Preferences - Desktop Screensaver icon. Perfect.
