Whisker Menu question (Personal) <SOLVED>

Post by MrEen »

Just a silly question after seeing a couple of recent answers that didn't seem quite right to me.

In 2 seperate threads I've seen people told to look under Menu > Settings > Personal > "Some setting here" to achieve some result.

I don't have Personal (though I do have the same "Some setting here" directly in Settings.)

In both cases, the OP was using 18.3 while I was still on 18.2 (upgrade for a reason and all that.)

I checked the release notes and What's New for 18.3 and didn't see anything about the menu.

So I upgraded to 18.3 (curiosity can be reason enough I reckon,) but I still don't have Personal.

I'm guessing the Personal section comes with a fresh install and my menu inherited my previous settings.

Is this correct?

Hi all41, and thanks for replying. This is strange because in one case, it was xenopeek that gave the advice and the OP appears to have solved their issue with that advice.

Here's that post: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=265663&p=1443487#p1443487

Anyhow, it's no biggie. Those instructions got me to upgrade to see what I was missing, and while for this subject I wasn't missing anything, I did find some new stuff to play with.

Thanks again.

I see the confusion here, in that thread xenopeek must have been referring to the Windows List 'Preferences' as opposed to 'Personal'
Just a mental typo there

edit: NOT! a mental typo at all, just an uninformed response!

Have to admit, me too, I got a bit confused by the mention of Personal section in xenopeek's post. Looked everywhere first, before I realized, ahhh...the section

Ah, got it. Thanks Marziano!

I just misunderstood (somewhat understandably) the instruction.
