ok
If yo get no solutions into this thread ........ then
open a new thread with headline "linux astrill how to start it with delay ?"
May be there are users, that had installed astrill ,,,,,, and will yet have a solution for it.
Your headline is to general, so that astrill-users woulndt find the thread.
I think it is very difficult to give a solution, when one hasent it installed and cannot try it on own system.
....... good luck !

Sorry I haven't replied sooner as I had to do something else. The icon is showing correctly in the panel so far but that might not mean that it's fixed because it didn't do it all the time. I will wait and see if all this tinkering actually fixed it somehow. :?

Just to be sure, see if this does it: Menu > Settings > Session and Startup > Application Autostart tab, click on the item then click on Edit. Change the command to sleep 20 && /usr/local/Astrill/astrill /autostart
I just tried that and it prevents Astrill from autostarting.
For XFCE try this command format as the autostart entry.

Code: Select all

sh -c "sleep 20 && /usr/local/Astrill/astrill /autostart &"
