Have you tried restarting the system?

Clem has created a fix. See here. You should have a new update available that fixes the issue very soon.

Yes.

Systemd update corrupted the system. I had no choice but to restore the system to a previous date and everything returned to normal, however the manager of updates, that systemd was present again and I had to demarcate it to update other packages and not spoil the system again.

It's not systemd; it's the mesa drivers.

What is the procedure to solve that problem and update that systemd notification?

Clem just put out a downgraded xfwm4 package that seems to have solved the problem, for now. It hit my repo about 10 minutes ago.

The system only detects the package xfwm4_4.13.0-2 installed and there is no other one in the repositories.

Give it a little while; I'm sure it will get passed along soon enough. This is the latest info on the xfwm4 package:

As MrEen had already explained at the beginning of this thread:
The systemd update is innocent in this case. It is the mesa update, which must have been included in the same update operation, which has got this side effect on Linux Mint 19.x xfce systems in combination with particular Intel graphics chips.
Relevant thread, including solution, announced by Clem, and also being deployed by now, here:

Everything was included in the update, and by default it was marked systemd, which spoiled the system to such an extent that it was restored to an earlier date and normalized. However, those updates appeared again in the manager, and I unchecked systemd to update the other update packages including mesa and nothing happened.

To check this is one of the packages of updates or dependencies of systemd without installing that by default is present marked in the graphical manager.

Code: Select all

$ sudo apt list --upgradable
Listing... Done
libnss-myhostname/bionic-updates 237-3ubuntu10.24 amd64 [upgradeable from: 237-3ubuntu10.23]

Visualized outputs of the packages as mesa or xfwm-4.13.0-2 that for the moment does not generate problems after having updated without systemd.

linuxmintq,

in case you had bothered to read Clem's posts, to which I had linked, you would know that Clem does not mention systemd once. The only ones involved in the problem are mesa 19.0.2 and xfwm.
regards,
Karl

This topic is published before I mention Clem and of the system spoiled. Sometimes I visualize the window manager updates that are marked and ready to install. Packages such as mesa or xfwm-4.13.0-2
do not generate problems until now as published above, also does not exist in the xfwm4=4.12.4-0ubuntu1" repositories.
