System Freezes after "put to sleep" activated.

Post by 52fighters » Fri Aug 16, 2019 6:20 pm

I upgraded from 19.1 to 19.2 about a week ago. Linux Mint Xfce. Last night was the first time I had the problem. I walked away for a few hours, came back, and it took like 15 minutes to get to the login screen and then another 30 before loading the desktop. Took too long to do anything else so I restarted by turning off power and turning back on. After restart I was fast and zippy again.

Today the same thing happened after I came back from lunch. I am guessing this is a bug but don't know. Is there any way to suspend the Xfce Power Management settings so that it never goes to sleep so I can test? Any idea of why this is happening?

For now, I just set the setting to happen after 60 minutes. That's the longest I can push it out using the interface. The screen still tries to go dark after something like 10 or 15 minutes of inactivity but each time I moved my mouse just as it was going black so I've not had a chance to see what happens if I do let it go black.

Thanks!
