Re: my mic phone will not work
Hi acid9,
Let's get a look at your sound setup with this command:
The last line of output will have a URL pointing to the info.
Let's get a look at your sound setup with this command:
Code: Select all
curl https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/raw/master/src/utils/pa-info?inline=false | bash | nc termbin.com 9999
Re: my mic phone will not work
ok what does this code do?
Re: my mic phone will not work
It gathers all the info about your sound setup and uploads it to termbin.com, then gives you the URL.

Re: my mic phone will not work
Okay, I'm assuming you're talking about the internal mic, so run these:
Then test the mic.
Code: Select all
amixer -c1 set Capture 100% toggle
Code: Select all
amixer -c1 set 'Internal Mic Boost' 1
Re: my mic phone will not work
still nothing i go to google and push the mic in the search and it said No Internet Connection and i look to see if my mic was on and yes it's on
Re: my mic phone will not work
That sounds like a different issue to me. No Internet Connection is very different than anything to do with the microphone. But as I don't use whatever it is you're trying to use, we can double check that those last settings took. Paste the output of this please:
And we should look at this one as well just in case:
Code: Select all
amixer -c1
Code: Select all

Re: my mic phone will not work
Okay, this could be part of the issue:
That ending of available: unknown is not good.
See if this fixes it:
Install (if necessary) and run PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol) and on the Input Devices tab lower the right channel slider all the way to zero. If you only see one slider, click on the lock icon to expose the left and right channel sliders.
EDIT: I forgot we were in the Xfce forum. You have pavucontrol installed already. Selecting Audio Mixer when you click on the volume icon will open it.

I'm not sure exactly what was meant. Did that work to get the microphone functioning?
