Linux Mint 20.01 XFCE keeps logging me out

Post by rorod »

Hi guys,

I really need some help!

I've searched a lot how to solve this problem but I wasn't able to find a solution. The problem is that I get constantly logged out whenever I'm doing random stuff, like typing on terminal, surfing the web or working, none of my applications is closed, I just have to log in again. My first guess was that it was a hardware problem since this only happens if I'm using the notebook keyboard, it does not happen using an external one (this is what is most weird for me), but I've switched notebooks 3 times and this keeps happening, so it has to be something with my setup. And It also happened when I was using Ubuntu. My installation is pretty clean, I only install and change things related to my work.

I will gladly post any information needed.

Here is the output of

Hi rorod, and welcome to the forum.

My best guess based on the description would be a keyboard shortcut you've created that you're accidentally firing on the laptop keyboard. That could certainly explain the difference from when an external keyboard is used. Maybe one of the Fn keys is doing this? Your errors file is showing a couple of times you hit the mute button, which I presume failed.
