Hi,
I can't put my lenovo laptop screen in sleep mode
i tried this settings, laptop is plugged in
blank after 1 mn
put to sleep after 2 mn
switch off after 3 mn
but after 5 mn the screen is not in sleep mode.
Why 3 modes for the screen power management why not only mode to put screen in sleep mode after X mn ???
I don't understand the logic behind.

Re: display power manager
The only part that should matter and work is the " Suspend when inactive for" that is found in Linux Mint Cinnamon ( you select the dropdown minutes option)Why 3 modes for the screen power management why not only mode to put screen in sleep mode after X mn ???
Your choices there include 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15, 30, 45, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, or never
Please post the results of inxi -Fxxxrz so we have a clue what we're working with under the hood. We have no idea what distro or desktop environment nor hardware you're running. That inxi report will save us all much speculation time.
Select that </> button ( fifth from the far left just above the message body window) then copy the results of that inxi command , then paste it in between

Re: display power manager
- Blank -> does not show anything on the screen but does not suspend (low energy) nor turns (cut off).
- Suspension -> Low energy but does not turn off, do not cut energy.
- Turn off -> Cut the energy.
I only use "blank" and after 30 minutes since I do not use battery.
Sorry, but 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, I find an exaggeration.
It is not advisable to vary the power supply or cutting the energy at this rate.
There is no perfect analogy, but a filament lamp usually burns when it turns on.
