Hello,
I use Linux Mint 20 with Xfce and installed OwnCloud there.
This has worked well for a long time. Now I get the following error message.
The taskbar is not available.
ownCloud needs a working notification panel. ......
I read the instructions there and restarted the panel. But that didn't work. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about how to recognize steps.
I put the error message in the attachment.
Can someone help me there?
Thanks.
The taskbar is not available. SOLVED

Re: The taskbar is not available.
Hello,
I made an restore with timeshift. But the error was always there.
But I am sure that it worked good in the past. So i guess that the error is not so deep in the system that a timeshift restore helps.
I want to reinstall the taskbar but I don't now how.
kind regards
Oliver Fuchs

Re: The taskbar is not available.
The terminology in Windows is different in Linux. So I may be wrong on what you consider the Taskbar. Explanation is below.
At the bottom of the viewing screen in Windows is where all the launcher icons are kept. And in Windows, this is called the Taskbar.
But in Linux using Xfce, the Taskbar is not called the Taskbar. It is called the Panel where all the launcher icons are (Firefox, Thunar, Whisker Menu, etc).
If this is what you mean, then open the Terminal and type: xfce4-panel
Then follow the prompts. You "might" have to log out and then log in, but I'm not quite sure since I had done this about three years ago when I inadvertently lost my Panel because of what I did. But I know the code above works since I used it and I got my Panel back.
If this is not what you mean, then disregard this message.

Re: The taskbar is not available. SOLVED
Hello,
Thanks for reply. Yes i meant the panel. The command xfce4-panel I already used, with out help.
So i reinstalled the System. This fixed the problem. I guess that the panel is not deep enough in the system that
a timeshift restore helped. So this was the only way I sow.
thanks
