I have Linux Mint 21 XFCE and today I've had xorg crash (suddenly I was logged out to login screen). What is cause of this? If it's important, crash took place when I had using Google Chrome.
About two months ago I had similar crash on Linux Mint 20 XFCE.
I attach my xorg logs.
Thank you in adanve for your help.

Re: Xorg crash
People here never seem to have much luck with other users reading big crash logs like that. Post some system info, copy/paste the text output of inxi -Fxxxrz run in the terminal.
One thing you could try is turning off hardware accelerated video in Chrome. That doesn't sound intuitive but often works.

Re: Xorg crash
You have a 20GB install of Linux Mint and that's it? That might be a contributing factor depending on what is running at the time of the crash. Yours is 80% full which does not leave much room for temporary and swap files.

Moderator note: ssttaarr's post can now be found here Xorg crash on ThinkPad T520 after upgrading to LM21 because they have a computer with dual graphics which is different from the OP in this topic.

Re: Xorg crash
I've got again random crash and logout to logging window. I don't know what is cause. Only thing which was done during all crashes was writing on keyboard but I don't know if it is related to these crashes. I attach my .xsession.errors.old.

Re: Xorg crash
It looks like you have some kind of cpu applet that is throwing a lot of errors. While it does not seem to be the cause of a crash, it is really filling the log.
Code: Select all
Error in cpuinfo: failed to parse processor information from /proc/cpuinfo
blink.mojom.WidgetHost
. I do not know what that is, but perhaps you do. It's hard to tell because the games don't timestamp, but it appears OpenArena was trying to load something. Then the following happened:

The only reference I could find with regards to ICE I/O Error was this GitHub comment which is about an issue with Microsoft Windows Subsystem for Linux. I have no clue if that has any relevance to what you have installed, but the person in the comment does reference whatever they did fixed the instability they had in their Xfce desktop. You are seeing instability in your desktop, so maybe it somehow relates? I'm not that familiar with Xfce to know.
You might also want to check the Xfce Forum to see if anyone else has run into the error.
