Enjoying Linux Mint 9 Xfce very much...

Post by UUUnicorn »

...Just wanted to post that I'm enjoying Linux Mint 9 Xfce very much. It really flies!

I did consider Linux Mint 9 Lxde, but I figured that Xfce would do well on my MSI Wind U100-432US netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom microprocessor, 2 Gigs of RAM, 160 GB internal hard drive (although I installed Xfce on a portable external hard drive).

Thank you, and great work! :)

Sincerely,

UUUnicorn

Welcome to LinuxMint and the Mint Forums.

I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the Xfce edition of Mint-9.
I am an advocate for LM and Xfce ... I have every distro that uses the Xfce desktop as default.

You should join the Xfce Forums as well ... and be up-to-date with the goings on of Xfce and it's projects.
I have also, found the Xfce Wiki pages to be most helpful with my constant customization of the desktop.

Main Xfce Website > http://www.xfce.org/
Xfce Forum > http://forum.xfce.org/
Xfce-Wiki > http://wiki.xfce.org/
Official Xfce Blog > http://blog.xfce.org/

I hope you are looking forward to the new version of LinuxMint-11 (coming in May '11) and the new version of Xfce-4.8

Sorry for bumping "not so new" thread but i was just wondering how did you install it on Mint 9(its not in sudo apt-get OR as full package in software center..)? I'm using Mint 9 atm myself but with LXDE(also flies btw) but i would like to have XFCE in choose-menu before login too. Thanks before for reply.
