Keep them short, I've got four thinkpads, the first is T430, the next T431 and so on... A shorter terminal prompt and, don't know if still relevant, there is a netbios name limit of 15 characters. Came unstuck with that when I first started with mint and tried networking to other win PCs.

SexyBeast? :P
If you accept - and I do - that freedom of speech is important, then you are going to have to defend the indefensible. That means you are going to be defending the right of people to read, or to write, or to say, what you don't say or like or want said.

I suggest you should keep it short and simple so that you won't have a hard time remembering it :)

Name the computer thewheel and your main account name asleep because that way, when you open up a terminal, it'll read:

Code: Select all

Keep your anonymity. Give it a random name that is not your own, or not even the computer. So that if anyone ever breaks into your wi-fi or you are on public wi-fi, then no-one can identify you. I think it's a security risk if you name your PC after the model etc. Then someone could steal it.
