Gigastrand International to host brand new version of the popular Linux Summit in the Midwest.

Gigastrand International announces the 2008 Desktop Linux Summit will take place at the Holiday Inn City Center in Downtown Sioux Falls September 8th and 9th 2008. With the theme of "Bringing Linux to the Heartland" the purpose of the summit is to showcase the vibrant Linux community and its resources to business and individuals from the Upper Midwest and across the nation.

"Gigastrand is thrilled to bring our version of the Desktop Linux Summit to the midwest," explains Drew Meyer, Marketing Director for the event. "We want to show people in the midwest that Linux is a well-supported, cost-effective and viable option for both consumers and businesses. We will provide a venue to educate potential users about all Linux has to offer while providing exhibitors a way to showcase their Linux-based products and services."

Planned events at the Desktop Linux Summit 2008 will include speakers, keynotes, and many other events soon to be announced. Tickets and exhibitor sponsorships can be purchased on the Desktop Linux Summit Website (

For those who want to come a little early, Gigastrand has arranged for chartered tours of regional attractions including Mount Rushmore and the Mall of America. Tours will take place September 6th and 7th before the summit. Tickets and Tour details are posted on the Desktop Linux Summit website.
When I go to my happy place, I turn on my computer.

Although it's possible (due to some bug in phpBB3) for non team members to make announcements this is not supposed to happen. Status of topic changed
This topic is also dangerously close to spam - but the event seems nice
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
