Any suggestions on a good, secure, (well as secure as Unix can be) preferably free unix account?

What do you mean by that? You mean a free account on a remote Unix server? Why not run your own? OpenBSD is especially secure.

There won't be that many shell account services now available, partly because it is too insecure with multiple users on a single system, when you intend to allow many users..
