Sony Vaio - 128 meg ram - Which distro?

Postby paddy » Thu Jun 05, 2008 8:27 pm

:D I have received a Sony Vaio PCV-RX463DS with a 40 gig HD and 128 meg memory. It won't run Ubunto or Mint. Wondering what would be the best distro. I would upgrade the memory, but like some Dell models, it is using RD ram. Very expensive and rare.

You might give Mepis a try. It has always ran pretty good on low spec machines for me. Also any distro that uses XFCE is supposed to be good on low ram. You could try Mint XFCE.

I'd go for Debian Testing or Slackware.
