Freedom of speech means that your government will not stop you from expressing your opinion. It does not mean that anyone is obliged to offer you a podium. For your enlightenment.
If you want to express your opinions, there are plenty of channels that you can use. Get a blog or something.

You approached in the wrong way and I believe you have a misconception about what this project is about (or any Linux Distribution project).

AFAIK:
  • Mint project is not a company, not driven by a business agenda
  • Mint does not control Unity development direction, at most Cinnamon and probably MATE(not really sure). And still Cinnamon is publish under GPLv2 and available on Github so is pretty much open for change or fork or whatever you want to do with it.
  • Most of what you were asking for can be adjusted with themes and tweaks
In the Free Software world you have to find the tool/software that works for you. Then you can run it for free, you are also free to take the source code and adjust it to your needs, you are also free to redistribute and publish your derivative work respecting the license. If you don't find anything that works for you, well you can start your own project and then publish or resell it.

You have the freedoms from Free Software already make good use of them. What you cannot do is start giving orders to a group of developers in any Free Open Source project. You have to join their team, earn some respect among them and then over the time you could try to convince them to adjust they goals/objectives/whatever.

You are in the wrong place if you want to reach the guys who develop the Desktop Environment.

It appears, as I first suspected, the OP just likes the font of his own text.

OP has expressed his opinion, it's just that most of us here do not agree, but starting another thread with the same topic is through your links is just trolling.

Perhaps consider changing the Title of thread from:

FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS DEAD

to

THREAD WAS LOCKED ON FORUM

Just to avoid any confusion.

If freedom of speech was dead, the discussion thread would have been locked immediately and the admins would have given you a "This topic is forbidden" message. The link you gave is to a discussion with 120 posts where lots of people gave a variety of opinions before it was eventually locked. Freedom of speech seems to be doing just fine.

You should file a civil complaint with the FCC and a criminal complaint with the DOJ.

Mint Forums shall make no rule respecting an establishment of Desktop Environment, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of Window Manager, or of the One Big Button; or the right of the people peaceably to post, and to petition the Mint Forums for a redress of grievances.

MrGoogle,
neither this thread, nor the thread that you link to as a piece of evidence prove that freedom of speach is dead. Both threads only show that not everybody agrees with your points of view.

Come on people. Just go look at the third post (second reply) of the first link. Pjotr nailed it that quick. Flamer/troll.

I caught it quick too Pjotr.

This thread shows 2 things:

The existence of the thread proofs, that the message is wrong and pure imagination.

Loud shouting in the complete title indicates the lack of arguments.

The reasons for locking has been given. An administrator gave one day before locking a warning, which has been ignored. This gives the impression of anarchy, but anarchy is the contrary of freedom with the smokescreen of freedom.
