Paradox: you'll need a laptop/desktop to install Linux - but any brand you'll buy has Windows standard on board. Windows 10 most likely.
Microsoft still has an overweening monopoly, so how on earth (and, probably, WHERE on earth) does one acquire a computer WITHOUT Windows on it?

Re: Some reasons to avoid Windows 10
Lots of places. From companies like Dell that sell laptops and desktop computer with Linux, to manufacturers like Clevo that have resellers that sell them without an operating system installed, to various companies that sell only computers with Linux like some of Linux Mint's partners https://linuxmint.com/store.php.

I think OP is talking about the average consumer walking in a store to buy a computer. The only choices in a store are PCs with Windows or Macs. No store I know (in the US at least) sells any computers with Linux or no operating system on it.xenopeek wrote:Lots of places. The case of Clevo and Dell offering computers with Linux is different. They are offered online only and their particular buyers already know and want a Linux machine so they know where to find them.
