I restart my Computer, the screen goes dark, but I hear the linux sound. It takes maybe 10 to 15 minutes to see the desk top. Anyone experience this?

Please supply as much info about your system as possible.

Re: Starting
My PC has Newest AMD processor 4 G ram module. Step one, I restart my computer. 2. It restarts without screen image, just dark and off. 3. I hit F8 and the Linux choices appear. 4. I choose linux mint 32 then the regular download sequence. 5. I hear the Linux Mint download sound, no image. A few minutes later, maybe 10-15 the password and desktop appear. And that is it.
Re: Starting
We still don't know anything about your system, as you did not give the output of the command, which DeMus requested.
Further more I have the vague feeling, that this problem did not happen at the beginning. Is this right?

Re: Starting
Actually, In the beginning it would not accept Mint, I downloaded in 32 bits. I downloaded in finally. After the first restart it had this problem. On a positive note everything works great, I can stay on the Internet even longer with nettzero. The old computer would constantly disconnect. It is stronger, better sound with some packages. Much faster in getting things done. Only issues, doesn't show on screen right away. with restart I have to push F8 and make the choices and mostly use basic Mint 32.

. We still have no idea, what system you are running (except that it seems to be a 32 bit architecture).Re: Starting
teak, a word to the wise: if you want people here to help you, you're going to have to give them the information they ask for. You were asked for the output of
inxi -Fxz
, but what you posted is only part of what inxi -Fxz
returns. It should return information about your OS, your kernel, your CPU, your video system, your audio system, your hard drives, your memory, and more. Those are the sorts of things that people will need to help you. I expect people will tire of trying to help others that won't give them the information they need to be able to help.“If the government were coming for your TVs and cars, then you'd be upset. But, as it is, they're only coming for your sons.” - Daniel Berrigan

I don't see, where you have suggested anything at all, but that might be a translation error. Telling us facts, that we already know and hiding the facts, that we need has nothing to do with translation. You punish yourself.teak wrote:Yes, I have suggested 32 bit. Not 64 sorry.

Re: Starting
My first question is why are you putting a 32bit OS on a 64bit system?
At first I had my Intel C2Quad based system running 32bit Mint but wiped and installed the 64bit version and my computer runs MUCH better on 64bit.

Re: Starting
For some strange reason, this is the only system that would run. I had a miserable time istalling the system in the first place.
