This 1400-page PDF is not Ctrl-F-searchable: http://www.wedophones.com/Manuals/Honda ... Manual.pdf. If you have software that you don't mind getting to work on this PDF, I'd appreciate it. I can provide an upload link or you could please upload to https://transfer.pcloud.com/ or https://wetransfer.com/ and provide me with the download link.

This is obviously a scanned image, not a pdf document on its own. PDF only gets used in this case as a container fr the image. Obviously no search is possible.

Maybe you didn't read the title or my complete post. I know it's a scanned image in a PDF. This is why I asked if someone can transform the obviously-not-searchable PDF into a searchable PDF.

The problem may be that since these are images, no OCR is possible. It's not like turning a Word document into a PDF where there is text and you can eventually make it OCR capable. This document is similar to a PDF comprising 1,434 separate JPG files. You may be able to get some of the characters recognizable but I'd be willing to bet that many of them will be bizarre hieroglyphics that will have to be altered manually. I've had that happen to me. It may fail completely.

With that said, I have a way to attempt to convert this but that number of pages will take some time. I'll download the file and try but no guarantees.

With a OCR software it might(!) be possible to convert it - theoretically. The extent of 1400 pages makes it questionable, if this practically doable.

pepperminty. I have run your PDF through Acrobat Pro and the results are here.

Honda Civic 1992 - 1995 Service Manual - OCR

1) It's on Google Drive and that's what I have. You may have to setup a Google account to get the file. Try the link first.
2) I did the OCR process in Acrobat Pro X. When it was done (about 3 hours), I did a search for some text that I thought would not be searchable. The text was found! However, no guarantees. You'll have to test it too.
3) I would burn the file onto a few CDs and put them in a safe place. If this is what you want, you don't want to lose this.

Hope this works for you! :)

TooMuchTime, you have helped me again! Thank you very much. I clicked your link and then clicked the "Add to my Google Drive" icon on the top-right corner. So now I have a forever copy. However, if you remove your copy, that may mean I lose my copy. (It says the 77MB PDF is taking up 0mb on my Drive.)

Just download the file. There should be a download button in the upper right while viewing the file in Google. Then it doesn't matter what I do.

Let me know if the file is searchable.
