I don't recall every having a 'STALLED" issue, but good to know, thanks. I get the odd "Exception: Server did not assign work unit" and "UNKNOWN_ENUM (127 = 0x7f)" but I'm putting that down to OC, 'trying to keep up with the Joneses'.

I see that additional 960 has put you right in the 'thick of things', 5 users in the 300kppd range, good to see, Battle Royale!

I'm eyeing another 960, but don't know whether to get it. I would need a pcie 1 x 16 riser and then have to go to a full open air setup and hang the graphics cards from a rail.

What do you guys think!
I noticed that these have jumped by about £20 practically over night.

Yes 900i, the coin mining sector is in a swing stage right now where it is more profitable. Its a swing and in a few months it will swing back down.

I was going to comment on this before but wasn't sure what to say, have you asked the seller if the cards are Linux compatible? Also at least in my case, I'd need a second power supply and some sort of an enclosure. I'd expect an old computer case would work rather well for both the riser card and power supply.

I guess you could put all the folding gpu's in the second case, buy some longer USB shielded cables (only 2 ft cables supplied) and have basically a septate folding box that's controlled by your main Mint box. The more I think about this the more I like it, stuff it with 4 x's 1080ti's and look out! The only thing missing is the funds. :(

Save your pennies Greerd. sometime 2018 will be Nvidias new launch. Used gaming gtx 1070's should be a fairly decent price. I would go 1070's for the ppd/watt thing versus brute force ppd.

I would also like to point out they still do make 6 slotted boards that are not that expensive. the AMD fx line as a few boards that way. One could easily use that board and declock the snot out of an fx 8 core to get its wattage under control. My 4 core Fx chip can run stable at 2.0x 1.1v which is much lower than the 4.0 at 1.35v=125w. My 4 core board has 3 slots so i can let nvidia eat 3 cores and one core for OS. when I comes to buying adapters and such, It may well be cheaper to find some old gamers FX rig. the other option is the 1151 intel boards have some 6 slotted version. But intel 8 thread chips are not cheap.

Heatwave here in Blighty, having to cope with ambient of 30 deg c. My f@h setup is in the garden shed and it's baking. And it doesn't get much cooler on a night time.

Same here, my AC broken a week a go, already hit 30.C. Concerned as my water loop hit 51.C yesterday, with 60.C been the limit for the tubes..

Heh, I have just been too cheap to turn the AC on. Fortunately the humidity has not been too bad this year....... so far. I made it till mid July last year. Being in the middle of the "Old black Swap", AC becomes a must eventually.

Yes, I have shut my rig down because at the moment with the high ambient temps it is running near the limit and most likely will start throttling its performance. Will be back after a rebuild and a relocation to somewhere cooler. Going for 3 card rebuild. 2 x 960 and 1 x 950.

it is getting pretty warm at 30c. I have made a final change to the computer and fitted the 2 fans that I took out from above the radiator and I have now put them both in the mesh door panel. The computer now has 7 fans in total. 2 above the top radiator, 1 at the front of the case, 1 rear exhaust and the final 4 in the mesh door panel. 2 in and 2 out.

holding well at the moment, but lets hope it does not go any higher.
As an old man I do not like it too hot.

I have got 7 fans in my case all maxed out. All gtx fans maxed. Folding on 6 cores of cpu. Have ordered 4 pcie 1 x 16 connectors so I can lift the gtx' s away from the m/b to get access to all pcie slots. Will junk the case and get everything into the open air. No I don't have a basement. Maybe I could convert an old fridge

P.S. All my temps are low 80's

Bad idea on the fridge. A non running fridge will be a large insulation box bad obviously. And a running fridge, the components inside will make massive condensation. Water bad.
I would have to say drop the cpu folding, its not worth the points for the power usage and heat.

The fridge reference was a bit of English sarcasm. Can't stop cpu folding, got to give you guys a run for your money. That last statement was also sarcasm.
