Thank goodness we don't have to scroll to page 2 anymore. :D

After we get to 99 later today I'm going to pull 1 of my cards from here and keep 1 going, at least until we pass team whoopass @ 97.
Nice job everyone.

hey, Good job everyone. Glad we are here, personally I want team ubuntu. Until I pass that team by 17 million, then I will be happy. I used to fold for them and overclock.net. but we will never catch OCN its okay though. At least we were able to make tinca s day.

Well done, Top 100. I am very impressed. As they say, from little acorns great oak trees grow.

Hi all,

I see that the team now has 16 members. To anyone who I have not said welcome to, then hello.

I have had the last 5 days running Fahcore 0x22 work units. These units are the highest point scorers that I have ever had, and to have them for an unbroken 5 days is a rare occurrence indeed. They do stress the GPU a bit more. They take my temperature from about 58 up to 66. It has also taken my daily point score up to a very healthy 950,000, not bad for a 1070 GPU.

Best regards Keith

I noticed too that the WUs I've been getting on my snail  are averaging almost 1k points each, taking a similar time to complete as those <500pts units. All good stuff! :D

Hi Keith,

Are you able to adjust your fan speed on your 1070? Mine never goes above 55 on these new tasks. I don’t overclock it but run cool-bits 4 to adjust the fan speed, usually 50%. My card has dual fans as well.

Hi darktheme,

I have been missing for a few day due to building a new computer. It has been a struggle to even get it to boot.

I used to change the fan speed on the 1070 by using Control Center/Nvidia Settings/Thermal Settings, tick the box to "enable GPU Fan Speed. I used to run the fans at 85%, but in the summer I have run them at 100% without any ill effects.

On this new computer which I have just managed to get to run, I have fitted a fan control panel that has 4 control knobs. One is for the 2 fans underneath the bottom radiator, the second knob controls the 2 fans above the top radiator. The third knob controls the 3 output fans on the back of the computer and the fourth knob controls the pump/reservoir combo. I have no idea how this will work out, and I have just seen that 2 of the 3 output fans are not working.

Its good to be back

Best regards Keith

As of Right now, the heat here is crazy in Japan. The 2 1080 ti and the 2070 are off line. I cannot keep them cool enough for my liking. Sorry about this.

battlenut,

the temperature of the 1070 is currently sitting at 65 degrees, so not too bad.

I am liking the run of 0x22 work units even though they push up the temperature a bit.

Hope it cools down for you.

Best regards Keith

Summer is just starting the shed I keep these cards in is hitting 105f. I do not want to cause damage to my components. So when it cools down again around October, I will restart the machines.

Still slowly (but surely) climbing the ranks within the Linux Mint team .. now one position short of my favourite number  ..

... shame those I'm passing are apparently inactive at present. If they'd resume it would surely help a bit with the team efforts. Still, those contributions are all of benefit. :D

Hi all,

it has been a bad day for folding. I noticed this morning that my points had dropped from 700,000 down to 50,000.

I am currently running a project 14185 fahcore 0x21

Has anyone seen the same problem???

Best regards Keith

Hi Keith,

I jumped back on for a run to see how it would go...been to warm to run within my comfort zone.

Yes something is different. Seemed to be some talk about it ( I think) over at the FAH forum. When I started back up, my PPD on the FAH Control display was only showing me the base value of the current work unit, but when I looked on line it was actually awarding with the multiplier. My first three days were like clock work. Then it started showing the grand total PPD again yesterday, and performance seemed to be lackluster. I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but I am taking a hit these last two days its seems.

Your daily total as of right now is sitting at 642K which is better than your prior days PPD. Are referring to the numbers the FAH control GUI shows? I stopped looking at those this session, since they don’t seem to make much sense with what is actually being awarded on a consistent basis.

I don’t know how much longer I will hold out this go-round. It’s not worth the stress on the machine if my PPD is only going to be 60~75% of what I know it could be.

<edit> I just re-checked mine.. its currently giving a work unit base credit of 29000, and 92457 PPD (which, I belive, should be the base credit times the multiplier when successfully completed.)

currently all my machines are within a margin or 5% error so I am currently good. Some times I log on and look at them they are at the low end but then they go back up.

Hi all,

I read on the Folding forum that they are experiencing a problem.

At the moment I am running a 14187 unit with an estimated point score of 5614. When I look at the log file it shows "final Credit Estimate=55576.

When I looked at the log file I could see that there was no entries above 08-24 this morning, normally they go back a long while.

It is a lot harder now to make any upward progress in the top 100.

Best regards Keith

This low PPD thing just started hitting me. On the 2070 Machine I am down from 1.2 mil to 256k. thats a little crazy.

Hi battlenut,

the numbers that the folding program has been reporting have been off for some time now. Yesterday I was running a 0x21 unit 14250, the base credit and the estimated credit were both the same at 14250, but checking the log I was actually credited with 80196.

I have just looked today and I am running a 0x21 unit 14250 (the same as yesterday) but for the first time in weeks the base credit is 11825 but the estimated credit is showing as 80290. The only difference is that the extra credit is now being shown on screen. This does not explain the poor figures that everybody seems to be getting at the moment. Sometimes the output numbers just seem to come to a standstill and very low points are awarded. I have also had a couple of work units not show any credit at all.

I have purged Fah a few times lately to see if it would make any difference but it has not.

We have been at position 90 for weeks now, but we are dropping further behind, and at this rate we have no chance of going higher, which is a bit of a shame.

Best regards Keith
