well... for one their website is down :D
Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.

Well, Ubuntu studio is for people who want to create media (audio, graphics, video) in an open-source linux environment.

Mint is for home desktop users who want to get the most out of their pc with linux.

So they are very different.

Ubuntu Studio is for Media what Mint is for Desktop Productivity.

In general, they are far from similar, but, upon closer inspection, one finds that they share a common goal:

To Enable a Completely Open-Source Platform to achieve what has, before now, been limited exclusively to Proprietary Solutions.

from the reviews i have read:
1. the theme is so cool people want to export it to their own system.
2. the music side is fantastic.
3. video and drawing is abit under done or lacking.

But all the reviews i have read have not been done by someone that actually uses the application side of the distro which is what i think the disto is all about. ie the distro has not been tested in anger.

the distro is for people who create music or video or art and not for people who want a desktop system.

:D

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
