Post a website you visit everyday?

Post by Lucap »

http://www.phoronix.com
website for Linux hardware reviews, open-source news, Linux benchmarks, open-source benchmarks
Lets see how long this threads lasts before someone gets it removed. :P

Please keep it as a genuine family-friendly site that you visit everyday and not as an excuse to rick roll people.

Thanks

Ok.

Here is a good site for those in the United States. This is the National Weather Radar Map. It shows weather conditions in real time in a loop.

https://radar.weather.gov/Conus/full_loop.php

I also visit this site when I get scam email from the king of Niger ;)

If people start messing about and sending us to sites that threadjack with a 100 popups just because they think it's funny i can see this thread being more trouble than it's worth.

But i thought it was worth a go that we might learn something new from each other and maybe even gain some new websites to visit as part of our daily routines.

Lucap: Fair point! Let's see if we can behave, in the interest of having a potentially fun and useful thread.

I'll post two:

https://www.drweil.com/ (health and well-being; I don't endorse everything he says)

I have to admit I'm a daily Reddit person - mind you there are plenty of subreddits I'd never touch with a 10 foot pole but I stick to the ones I like and are more deal able. Quite a few linux ones, tech ones, books related, ones following TV shows I follow, SF & F ones, and I'll admit that on more than one occasion r/kittens and r/supermodelcats have served to help me make it through a long day.

I do also check Ars Technica a couple of times a day as well.

I've got my technical side, but I've also got my "fun side". Since my #1 hobby is standup flat water paddling and sup surfing the waves on the upper Texas coast, the link below is my favorite site and I visit it multiple times everyday. The other links I'm going to add, I also visit them multiple times a day.

https://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php#c1

And my favorite sup surfing streaming sites. The first one you can control the camera and move it around.

The one below is my favorite beach where I coastal cruise parallel to the coastline with my sup. Just a streaming web cam where you can't control the camera.

And last but not least, I like to watch the maritime barge traffic on the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway). Another streaming web cam where you can't control the camera.

I look at regional sector for my area - tells me almost everything I can expect from the weather.

The first site I visit is http://wttr.in/, but I access it from the command line using curl. curl wttr.in/Hattiesburg gives me a surprisingly accurate 3-day weather forecast, unlike the weather-<violates forum rules> nonsense offered up by the local TV news.

I visit the Mint forums every day, usually several times each day. And I visit Facebook every day. And on any given day, there is a very good chance that I will visit Reader Supported News and TruthOut. And I will often have music playing from Youtube.
