Beware about Windows 10 Creator Update

Post by kukamuumuka »

Creator Update can break keyboard, so if you have dual-boot with Windows 10, you may need the next instructions.

Way 5. Check or Update the BIOS to Fix the Keyboard Problem

BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is used to load the operating system and to perform hardware initialization during the PC booting process, like the keyboard, the screen, the serial and parallel ports. If you come across the keyboard not working problem after the Windows 10 Creators Update/Fall Creators Update, you need to enter the BIOS to check the BIOS configuration or install the BIOS updates to fix the issue.

It's hard to enter the BIOS without a working keyboard. If your keyboard is USB, then you can try a PS2 type keyboard. Once you enter the system, find USB Keyboard Legacy Support option or so and enable it. Press F10 to save the change and quit to log in the desktop. If the PS2 port one is still not working, there may be problems with the motherboard. You need to send it to repair.
