Exede/ViaSat Internet rip-off

Post by all41 »

Hey--I signed up for a 2 year commitment at a fixed price,
now after less than a year they are increasing that price
Is this legal?

In the country I live in (Australia) it wouldn't be. If there is a cost increase, they would have to wait until your current contract expires and there's a body (the ACCC) we can complain to if they do try something like that as they've misrepresented the product or service if a fixed price was what they claimed. I would advise looking into the relevant consumer protections in your state/country to see what your rights are and then go from there because some companies will try to act in bad faith with their customers if they feel they can get away with it enough to profit from doing so.
