I would not call that incident a mistake. At the most it may be incomplete but such is the great majority of advice you get here and anywhere else. Others can come along and add more.

Even if you make the occasional mistake it is not a big deal because it will be corrected by others and everyone will come out wiser.

By participating we all learn not only from each other's knowledge but also from each other's mistakes.

The quickest way to get correct advice on any forum is to post blatantly INCORRECT advice. :D

Everyone take care and stay safe.
Please do come back after your trip! We missed you during your hiatus a few years back, I know we'll do it again.
Bali sounds like fun. :D

Read this and my heart sank as you've been an encouragement and help so many times and your knowledge would be sorely missed by many here. I am pleased to have read that you're coming back in August at least we hope that you will

Shoot. You don't even have to do that! Just ask a simple question!

One thing I would suggest, create a partition as a 50G partition as /. Partition the rest as /Home. IF the system fails, reinstall and use the exact same username and all your 'stuff' comes back to you.

But that Avatar and user name! How will people get curious and not want to go see what it is about? :)

(Maybe i'm speaking as a british person that has watched some 80's tv shows in his time?).
Laptop overheating? Check link here:itsfoss guide . Also a move from Cinnamon to XFCE can give a -5 to -10 degrees C change on overheating hardware.

We never got that one here in the States (at least not that I've ever seen...) but I figured it had to be some kind of Brit TV program...:D
