as an comparison - I'm currently helping an Guy who Owns a GoIf Course:
- this Golf Course has had a few owners & he bought this Golf Course several years ago,
the thing is, that the whole Rain Bird sprinkler system, is controlled from an interface box,
& that in turn is controlled by an Old PC running Dos-7
and every winter, he turn the system off, & every spring, when he turns it back on again,
- the Old PC fails to boot up
would you believe that it's an One Gigabyte Harddrive ??. the software is just 7Mb + the Dos files.
most other Golf Courses are using an Windows GUI interface together with an updated interface box,
but - - he is not wanting to spend the Thirty Grand to replace the whole thing.
then there is the Lightning strikes to the system wiring & thus the constant replacement of those remote box(s)

back on topic though - - it's an issue when I'm getting called from consumer grade folks,
that are Locked Out of their Office 365 because of some error with their M$ account / credit card link,,
and that there is no viable replacement for Office 365, even if you can get Office 2016 to install correctly
( once spent Two Whole days getting Office 2016 to install & even the M$ Techs were baffled )
this SaaS thing for Consumers // DaaS for Businesses is a great revenue maker for Microsoft, IMHO anyway,
- as it will break so regularly & thus require heaps of Tech Support.
