I am on AT&T DSL and have been experiencing my laptop loosing the WiFi connection, and then it comes back.

I have had the Power Level manager turned off for a long time, but rechecked that.

Then I opened up my cellphone's WiFi Signal Analyzer and watched that for a while.

Wow! what an enlightenment that was, nominal level is -52dBm and then it goes to the top of the graph, and then just as suddenly drops completely out.... just gone..........
my DirecTV receiver is using the same WiFi signal and its' signal level remains constant.

just curious before I get involved with an extremely lengthy discussion on the phone with Script Kiddies on AT&T's help line...

has anyone else experienced this symptom with your DSL routers?

were you able to check your signal to noise ratio, (snr) on your arris modem/router?...(it looks like a combo unit to me)...to access most arris brand modem/router combos, type in the browser address bar, the following... 192.168.100.1 ... and look for the "snr" column listing...it should read in the 37 to 40 db range...as a "for instance" here is a read out from my arris snr column...DAMIEN

ps...my arris is a separate modem as i own my own separate router so im not forced to use the IPs settings for that. but the access code should still be the same.

this is an ADSL modem/WiFi/LAN router combo provided by AT&T from a copper wire circuit from the Central Office, which is about 5,000 lineal feet by cable from my home. Over the last year they have been out here at least six times to fix things.
the last trip actually gave us fairly reliable service. This arris modem is a ton better than the little tiny cracker boxes they had installed here 5 years ago.... that damn thing was out of service more than in.

Don't ya just love that they tell me how fast it is in terms of Kbps ?? all of my downloads are 1.3Mbps and they gladly tell me that I am getting that rate because they are selling me 10Mbps... uh huh...

as you can see, I don't have the same exact set of s/n stats that you do.

however, the s/n to the central office is not all that good 16dB down and 13.7 up.

I haven't run the Congestion Test as of yet, that was interesting, but I don't know what the numbers mean.
This laptop is the 3rd one connected at 192.168.1.67
