EOL for 4.18

Post by DAMIEN1307 »

To those of you in the forum using kernel 4.18, it has been announced that it is now EOL...it is now advised to go to kernel 4.19.

Ubuntu's supported 4.18 series is not EOL.

Mainline 4.18 is EOL but it is rarely advised to go mainline. Ubuntu's 4.19 mainline build currently has both ext4 file system corruption and rtl wifi driver memory leak issues (among other things).

sounds like it is more advisable to go back to the LTS kernels originally provided with the distribution when issued...such as 4.15 series with LM19 etc., since gm10 reports known issues with the 4.19 series.
