It's time for my twice a year pilgrimage

Post by catweazel »

It's one of the two times of the year that I go to Indonesia for some well-earned R&R so I want to wish everyone all the very best for the season.

I haven't been around much lately because I'm busy coding a personal backup program for Linux. It's nearly ready for a beta release, and tentatively called 'Athenaeum'.
Athenaeum
noun: Athenaeum; noun: Atheneum

used in the names of libraries or institutions for literary or scientific study.
"the Boston Athenaeum"
used in the titles of periodicals concerned with literature, science, and art.
a London club founded in 1824, originally for men of distinction in literature, art, and learning.
singular proper noun: Athenaeum; noun: the Athenaeum
It's called Athenaeum because it's like a library. It keeps a track of what files were archived where and when, which makes the backups searchable. You can also run scripts before and after the backup.

Here are some screenshots. Cheers, all!

Have a nice trip, catweazel. The new application is looking good!

If you are indeed as old as I saw you mention a few times that is in deed and in fact rather impressive. Quite doubt I'd be intellectually active enough at a similar age to cook up something like it. GUI-programming is wearing me down now in fact....

Remember to stay a little farther away from the volcano this time. Have fun!

I'm probably too late posting this for you to see it before your travels, anyway hope you have a good time & safe journey. Noticed you haven't posted much recently but then neither have I, life gets in the way sometimes.
