I never took a Latin course, but I'd bet if somebody were to wake me up in the middle of the night and say, "Dominus vobiscum", I would immediately answer with, "et cum spiritu tuo." My mother used to drag me to the Catholic church back when they did the mass in Latin.

There is no team to manage Linux Mint translations to Latin. To set one up, please get in touch with Clement Lefebvre.

I got caned with 6 of the best across my hands as a youngster. The teacher wrote "Cogito ergo sum" on the blackboard and I, while he wasn't looking, rubbed out a letter g.

Not at the time. It made me physically sick, it was vicious, but I've had many laughs out of since :)

That is better than one of my classmate's stunts - she worked in the school office and had access to the memeograph machine. She slipped an extra line into a section of Aeneis we were to read in class.

"Ubi oh ubi est meus sububi" became our class motto, and each time our teacher heard it she rolled her eyes so hard they damnear rolled out of her head.

Sadly, "sububi" is is technically gibberish meaning "under where". The correct vulgar word is subgalia.

The "gibberish" was intentional, and it was what threw our teacher into a frothing mess. If I recall the word we were given was subbraccas; another classmate pointed out sububi was better because it fit the meter Virgil used, and it was a way to say "boobie" in Latin.
