Tea or Coffee?
Re: Tea or Coffee?
Surpringly - I quite like the Aldi coffee pods, but freshly ground and coffee is still the best.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
Hi MurphCID...
I used to have a supervisor about 20 yrs ago, who was always taking me out for a coffee with him at starbucks, I asked him "do you really hate me that much"...lol..."Lets go to dunkin donuts instead"...DAMIEN
Thank you for just confirming what i have said for years...If this is "Seatles Best", i do not even want to know what the worst is....Its the next nearest thing to battery acid that I can think of.I loathe Starshmucks and their coffee it is burnt, bitter, and overly caffinated. I cannot stand the burnt taste.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
Anyone tried Yerba Mate? Taste good? Bad? Similar to coffee or tea?
All things go better with Mint. Mint julep, mint jelly, mint gum, candy mints, pillow mints, peppermint, chocolate mints, spearmint,....
Re: Tea or Coffee?
As an aside, does anyone like Turkish coffee? We had a jar of instant Turkish coffee at work many years ago and I made the mistake of trying it. To me, it made Pablo (I presume that this brand might be available elsewhere, but, if not, think of the sweepings from the floor of your poorest coffee factory) taste like gold. It might have been just the particular brand, but it put me off Turkish coffee for life!

I have had fresh brewed Turkish Coffee, and it is strong, black, sweet, and bitter all at the same time. Brewed correctly in an Cezve/Ibrik. Very much an acquired taste. Not my cup of tea at all.lsemmens wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 8:49 amAs an aside, does anyone like Turkish coffee? I find that the proper accompaniment to morning tea or coffee are Mexican pastries from the Fiesta Bakery in San Antonio. A morning cuernito really puts a smile on your face.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
I have heard that from many ex-smokers.151tom wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 12:05 pmWhen I used to smoke cigarettes many years back I tried Camel brand cigarettes and I believe those are rolled from Turkish tobacco, horrible tasting so I can only imagine that Turkish coffee is horrible tasting also.
Now days all cigarettes are horrible tasting and can't imagine why I found enjoyment from smoking them.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
They're now make Keurig Cup versions of different kinds of tea. I haven't quite gotten the never up to try that.
Re: Tea or Coffee?
So? Does that mean you are never going to try it?

You just gotta love Google's OSK's swipe autoprediction sometimes.
I just bought a box of Mocha and a box of hot chocolate K cups. Let me get through those first!

Don't forget to report back if the "never" ever does allow you to try it.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
I'm thinking about seeing if I can get a box that's Earl Grey.
That way, I can wear my DS9 uniform top, stand in front of the machine, and while pressing the button say...
“Tea. Earl Grey, hot.”

Well, make it so!

You'd probably be better with you Next Gen Captain's uniform on.

I have several LBS. of Columbian Beans left. Fresh ground when I drink it in the morning. Good stuff.

Coffee only here. I keep a big plastic container of Dunkin Donuts at all times. Original blend. Hot, black and strong.

My oldest daughter would love that. She loves Earl Grey, I can't drink it. Drinking some Rishi Tea Yunnan Gold this morning, brewed from the tea leaves in my French press.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
I've had Yunnan Bonay tea before, which I presume is a different tea to the one you mentioned. I love herbal teas.
Actually, I just made a cup of Swiss Miss K-Cup hot chocolate and, actually, it was pretty decent.

Re: Tea or Coffee?
I quite agree, but I only have to work with what I have in my closets, so...

My absolute all time favorite sci-fi uniform style is that of Babylon 5. The design is simply amazing, and JMS has talked about the goals he had behind the design of it. It was extremely well thought through.
My second favorite uniform is the two-piece ST:TNG one. However, I really do like the DS9 one.
I think my third favorite is the Colonial Warrior's uniform from BSG, though to be fair the ones from NuBSG are clearly intended to be more military-credible. And their flight suits are absolutely second to none.
