I never had a dad (he died when I was 3) but this Baby Boomer survived. I agree with what Ugly has said. My kids all grew up learning how to do for themselves, not that they seem to have the time. Society is the poorer for the need to have a dual income just to survive. The kids lose out. If governments would realise that they'd be better off paying one parent to stay at home with their kids, then they'd not have a lot of the social issues that currently cost us.

Off topic, but so true.... Furthermore, the current structure of the western economies provides a huge disincentive for getting children. No wonder the birth rate is going down below the reproduction rate. It's insane and destructive.
