Cars and Buck Rogers moments...

Post by Portreve » Mon Aug 26, 2019 6:26 pm

I recently bought a new car (used, technically) and it had a couple issues we agreed at the time the dealership would take care of. No biggie.

So, I dropped it off today at the dealership and they hook me up with a brand new Subaru smaller SUV as the loaner. It's nice, and I really have no complaints.

The rep who got me the loaner walked me over to it, handed me some paperwork and a key fob, and we chatted and she was like, "Ok, enjoy!" And I'm like, "Well, how about the key?"

"Oh, no," she laughed. "It is keyless. Just keep this on you and then push the button to start and stop it."

I got in, loved around, started it up, and oh my goodness! One kind of annoying thing is it turns the engine off when you come to a complete stop, and turn it back on again when you press the gas. It's very off-putting at first.

I guess I have finally arrived in the 21st century!

Tell them you went to Washington State and you'll be back in a month or so.

Y'know, I should do that. A friend of mine lives out there, and I've always wanted to go visit her.

My mean sister recently drove from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Pullman, WA. It took her 5-days to drive to Pullman, and it brought out sociopathic tendencies that had lain dormant for years. And then there was the drive back.

Confession:
My sister really isn't a sociopath, but she is mean. Vengeful and spiteful, too. Do not get her angry. One time my yuppie sister crossed that line, and ended up on lots of mailing lists. Turns out the Mean One used the Yuppie's name and address to send $1 cash to every televangelist she could find. The Yuppie was on mailing lists for nearly a decade, and the stuff kept coming even after moving and getting married. The Mean One says it is the most entertaining $20 she ever spent.

You're sister's not the only one to do something like that.

A certain former store manager got on the mailing list for every **** mag, including gay ****, along with various money-making scheme setups.

Of course, I have absolutely no idea whatsoever how that happened.
