W7 COAs good for w10 install in most cases

Post by Minux1 » Wed Aug 28, 2019 12:22 am

For those thinking of double booting windows and linux each one of those w7 COA stickers with a product key you find on the bottom of an old computer is good for a free download, installation and activation of w10 even if the w7 is no longer installed on the computer.
Like the free upgrade of a couple of years ago this won’t be available forever.

I'm betting it will last until Win7 is out of support.

If you have a spare Win7 key I would appreciate it please. I could use it to install Win7 into a VM on Mint and finally get rid of my last dedicated Windows computer.

I'm making a decent amount of cash upgrading Windows 7 computers for users who want to get the free Windows 10 upgrade before Microsoft stops giving it away. :D

I've upgraded twenty of my own desktops with the Windows 10 free upgrade and have sold all of them for $100.00 cash per desktop. :D

It's a bummer that users aren't interested in buying a Linux computer, hell I can't even give a Linux computer away for free. :(

Most people I know who are wanting to buy a computer wants a Windows 10 computer.

Personally I don't have anything against Microsoft or Windows 10 although I don't use Windows 10 or have any use for Windows 10.

In most cases just involves downloading the Windows 10 build 1903 update assistant on the W7 desktop, double clicking on it and letting it do its thing.
Not rocket science.
W7 home will give you W10 home.
W7 pro or W7 ultimate will get you w10 pro.
