Real deal regarding eBay

Post by all41 » Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:55 pm

Ok I want to air this out.

Bought a tablet from Chinese dealer July 6, 2019.
Never got delivery, many other buyers were reporting the same.
Now eBay has ERASED all purchase history and I am out the money with no recourse.
Be aware!!

Catweazel's #1 eBay rule: If you're going to buy from China, only buy from Hong Kong.

If you used paypal, you may be able to get in touch with them and request a refund.

Yo, I get that, what a bunch of bs though.
Filing a no delivery complaint requires following a link from "Purchase History"
and eBay has deleted that, probably due to the huge number of negative reports for this seller.
Calling eBay support gets someone speaking 'other than, or barely English' That leaves me in limbo.
Glad you're back without volcanic scathings.

I only buy from ebay sellers inside of the United States although not any guarantee that I can't get ripped off.

The Wife has bought some ebay items from sellers from china and sometimes it can take a long time for them to be delivered. :x

Always use Paypal as you have recourse and payment to the seller is never made until you have received your purchase or that's how it has always worked for our ebay purchases.

I'd talk to your credit card people and see if there's something they can do about it. Maybe they'll reimburse you?

So today eBay did arrange a refund of the sale through the eBay Money Back Gaurantee.
Takes a couple days for refund to be available but it's in process.

It was just strange that the item was removed from Purchase History without
notification and explanation, leaving no path to report the undelivered item.
It does now show in Returns and cancelled orders section though.
All is well that ends well.

Might have been accidental when/ they kicked the seller off the platform, or maybe they received some cease and desists and just wiped it all intentionally. Dunno.

Probably a bad glitch in the system. It happened to me once. Bought a laptop, then discovered the item was gone. I had proof I paid for it, but after getting no shipping info for several days I contacted the seller. He wasn't even aware of the sale and got no info from ebay. I finally got the laptop, but glitches happen. I always use paypal.
