The battery is insane! 49% and still showing 6 hours! Keyboard is a little more cramped than the Darter Pro, and it does not have as much key travel, but still nice. The Darter Pro still has one of the better keyboards I have ever used. IMO the key travel and tactile feels reminds me of HP Envy or Spectre laptops.

Having a good keyboard is a huge part of the computer experience for me personally. I am so picky about the keyboard that it is a deal-breaker for me if the keyboard falls below what I find acceptable for my heavy daily use. I realize the keyboard feel is subjective and what one person likes another may not like. I prefer Thinkpad keyboards on my laptops... they just feel right to me. On my desktop I have a Filco Majestouch-2 that I like. The Filco was expensive but I spend hours a day, every day, using the keyboard, and if it sucks, then that just drives me crazy. LOL, yes, I'm a keyboard-zealot

Yes,to me as well. I need a good keyboard to really like a laptop. I like a reasonable amount of key travel, and good feel. I have a Logitech G-513 Carbon on my desktop which is a "clicky" mechanical keyboard (I love them), it replaces the IBM Model M I had for years.

Damien flashing BIOS can fail like that on any system, that's why you should never do it unless you really need to for a specific reason other than it's newer than what you have.

I did the BIOS update on the Lemur when I first got it, and worked like a charm. I am really liking this laptop, and Mint is wonderful on it.

On my homebuilt system, This is exactly why i dont flash bios...The MB is showing the 2016 date from when i built it 4 years ago and i have no intention of even seeing if there is a flash update for it..."if it aint broke, dont fix it"...lol...DAMIEN

I have never, ever had a company call me personally to talk about a problem, and immediately present solutions. I cannot say I am anything less than completely impressed. While I cannot afford to get another one, I will certainly tell people about them and their standing by their systems.

I love this laptop. Probably the best one I have yet had, and the screen seems to be even nicer than my HP Spectre x360. Around Christmas I will add an extra drive. Does Mint automatically detect new drives?

I noticed something odd this morning. I had Chrome open, and was on Twitter, and noticed that my battery life sucked. I also saw that there was some sort of sound app running hard and sucking up CPU power. Same with Chrome. I killed both processes, and CPU went down to "normal". Then I opened Firefox and got a hard lockup. I could not get out of it, and ended up pressing the power button to shut down. That is the first time I have seen such abnormal power usage, and CPU usage (I watch HTOP for stats). This is completely new behavior which I have never seen on any Linux Mint machine. I DID install the latest Lemur Pro firmware from System 76 last night.

That is installed with the System 76 PPAs, you MUST use their kernel, it will not allow you to use regular kernels. And you have to use their Kernel to get some basic things to work like keyboard lights.
