Ringing in my ears.

I Musici with Felix Ayo - Vivaldi – The Seasons, Op. 8

I found this at a thrift store for $8. For a roughly 65 year old record, it sounds really nice.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
This album - but not on Youtube. I dug out my DVD as a tribute
First time I heard it I had taken off on one of my last trips around Australia in the 70s, and picked up a couple of hitchhikers near Noosa in Queensland. They invited me to a party on a beach, where a group of us shared dancing, food, drinkies and the usual stuff that a mixed group of wanderers used to get up to in those days.
It was the first tape that was put on after we arrived, and I had never heard it before.
Having done all my other long distance trips on motorbikes, and having had a few hospital stays after some nasty prangs - it resonated.
Shortly after noon the next day after I hit a kangaroo (while travelling a little too quickly) and lost a front wheel, my car was being winched out of the branches of a tree on the side of an embankment - after a recovery team managed to get me out, and down to the ground.
M E A T L O A F - Bat out of Hell turned out to be the first music I listened to at the beginning of one of the best periods of my life.
I only read about his passing this morning . .
R.I.P.

Arvo Pärt: Spiegel im Spiegel (mirror in mirror):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ6Mzvh3XCc
Crystal clear minimalistic piano play, accompanied by the light melancholy of the violin, with now and then spots of dark despair in it. Beautiful.

Another superb performance of Spiegel im Spiegel by Lisa Batiashvili and Hélène Grimaud:
Pärt: Spiegel im Spiegel
Lisa Batiashvili plays on a 1739 Guarneri del Gesù violin lent to her by a private collector.

The link was interesting for someone who like odd bits of history, but the link from there to the Youtube video opened up a whole new world of fascinating stuff.
I'd never heard of this mob, or their music. Complex and fascinating. Looks like hours of incredibly amazing and relaxing listening coming up.
Thanks . . .

Nothing at all, with my severe Tinnitus, just piece and quiet is sometimes the best thing for me.
