What I am listening to is "off-language" with respect to the English only main forum.
Reason: In order to enjoy what I am listening to you have to have a near perfect listening understanding of the German language.

I'm not so sure :D I listen to Monika Martin, Claudia Jung and a lot of other German singers and music of various kinds. One of my long time favourites is the Goombay Dance Band. They always pick me up out of the fog, or are fantastic for cockpit music on a long voyage.

I listened to https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=O ... 0TLu8LMJRA and now I am looking forward to discovering more of that music.

Thanks for posting. It's not always the 'words' and the language in which they are sung, as such, as the music, and the 'sound of the words' that makes enjoyable listening.

It probably helps to have some German friends though - and to be used to the sound of a mob of Germans singing after a few steins . .

My German is practically non-existent, but listening to many of the songs in the link you posted was great fun. Thank you.

Actually if I like the tune and performance I don't really care what language it is. Big Rammstein fan, don't understand a bit of it. Those guys can play.

Hi, Hoser Rob.
In the case of the Prinzen (the Princes), the song text is as importent as the melody. Else you miss the (sophisticated) irony.
Cheers,
Karl

Right now, as I opened this post, I've got John Cafferty playing a very relaxing Tex - Mex ballad (interesting for a Rock Singer).
