Name everyone you know who can read source code.
That would be violating their privacy. But at least 8 people.

It was an amplification of a metaphor, not to be taken literally, Still, 8 out of around 3-3.5 billion Linux kernel users worldwide is hardly a drop in the bucket.

You can count on me to take stuff literally, especially when it's not meant that way.
On the other hand, you can't count on me to personally know every Linux kernel user worldwide.

So I've noticed, well before this :)

 And there was me thinking you were the all seeing

I have a direct line to the former enemy.

I am in regular email communication with Bill Gates which is not actually a joke. He picked my brains about using Photoshop and Krita via social media to begin with, the latter of which is available for Windows these days. Since then he's been emailing me to discuss all manner of topics including politics, brexit and how it's affected my business, covid, electronic vehicles, and growing interest in using opensource himself.

Not sure anyone would see that one coming because I certainly wouldn't have believed it myself a year ago but it happened. He reached out to me, not the other way round.

And you call yourself a GNU+Linux distro message board moderator?

What shocking revelation is next?

You don't have Linus Torvalds' private cell phone number? You don't speak with Richard Stallman on a daily basis?

...especially if their contribution is in the open source area where you can check.
Name everyone you know who can read source code.
Most of them I know virtually as they work for the kernel maintainability. What's your point? That everything should go proprietary then?

One would have thought it obvious that 98.9% of Linux kernel users are incapable of reading source code, i.e. ~3461500000 Linux kernel users.
