How large is your non-multimedia library?
Your pdf, txt, word, calc, assorted image files, everything but video and audio (unless podcast or similar), how large is it?

Most of mine are in a very old format called book. Several thousand volumes.

Somewhere in the vicinity of, I dunno, 700MB or thereabouts.

If I count everything it is more than 5T uncompressed. I have over 4T of archived photographs alone, plus 1T or so of archived data files, PDFs, etc.

What backup hardware all of you use to keep copy?
Windows assumes I'm stupid but Linux demands proof of it

Re: How large is your non-multimedia library?
For my laptop, I use SSDs in external USB enclosures. I have two 4TB 2.5" SSDs and one 8TB SSD (with two 4TB partitions) in the laptop. Each drive/partition has its own 4TB external backup drive (a total of four). I keep the laptop backup drives with the laptop. I don't worry about having any other backups because their data is identical to my desktop computer's drives' data.
I still have and maintain the four 4TB data drives from my last desktop machine (a new one is still under construction; life keeps happening). Each of the four 2.5" desktop data SSDs has a set of four bare 2.5" backup SSDs; two of each set is kept onsite and the other two are kept offsite in my safe deposit box at my credit union. I swap out the onsite and offsite backup drives at least once a month so the offsite backup drives will be as up to date as practical.
I use FreeFileSync to update my data backups. I use Clonezilla to image my boot drives.

Re: How large is your non-multimedia library?
For normal backups I have a 2T external drive. For my off-site archives I use still functioning HDDs I scavenged from old computers.
Also, I have some very old projects archived on DVDs and CDs, some very old archives on SyQuest and ZiP disks, and some ancient archives on 3.5" floppy disks. Most of this data has no real value; otherwise, I would have transferred it to more modern media.

If you remove images and backups, about 8.9 TB.Your pdf, txt, word, calc, assorted image files, everything but video and audio (unless podcast or similar), how large is it?
If you remove my map collection (geo pdf and geotiffs), then only 1.8 TB.
