Shop Linuxonline.com [don't]

Post by blueicetwice »

I can not endorse this etailer anymore.
  • 1] They do not take phone calls anymore.
2] Their refund or exchange for defect products use to be unlimited.
3] They do not return emails.
4] This "company" operates out of a house [which badly needs a clean up]
We had a failure of both a DVD OS and a thumb drive. Despite having order over
$150.oo of products from them, when helf was need they turned their back on us.

Shoplinuxonline.com SUCKS!

I and many others to insure a secure OS. In fact, the Linux Foundation should do so
as a means of generating free cash flow.

Kadaitcha, this is over numerous years and many CDs
and DVDs. Also gifts from friends and family.

Errr? Why? Simply download a free .iso and just install and install and install. And many more installations too. I've never ever had a problem.

And what about "insecure OS". Does it happen? How often has it happened? When? Why?

If the .iso comes from the Linux Mint website are you saying I can't trust it?

A check of ShopLinuxonline.com shows -
A Linux Mint DVD is $3.49. On a big USB it is $11.99
How many DVDs or USBs does one need to buy?

One USB or DVD can do dozens of installations. If previously say Mint 20, it can easily be upgraded...FREE.

some N00Bs don't know enough, in order to download & write any ISO to disk.
:o

thus, they may be better off, in initially purchasing an usb stick, from eBay or similar.

you used to get CDs on the front cover of UK based Linux magazines,
but not as easily these days.

My brother in Australia had Linux Mint 14(?) on a DVD from APC magazine (Australian magazine) over a decade ago. He gave it to me and I tried it out of interest and a year later realised I'd booted the Windows computer about twice. The Linux disk went into the faster computer and it was all go from there. I'm just installing Mint 20.2 on another computer at present. Fifth one in a week?

My brother, being a computer professional all his life, near 5 decades of it, still uses Windows. Oh well....

The reply doesn't make sense. Why do you want "100 plus OSs.". And "all time hits of Devo", what is that?
As others are saying, "Why buy?"

Mr Shed, Linux is the equivalent to dinning at a buffet rather than a hamburger stand. Why buy, gifts to
family and friends and Microsoft support. Also, it has been verified and securely copied.

How many members of this site have contributed to the Linux Foundation. :?: :?: :?:

Judge Rolly, I rest my case.

Impossible to answer. But personally I have contributed to Linux Mint. Financially, I mean.

And the price of magazines these days is very high, and the content is barely worth reading :-(
