Founded by Germans perhaps? That's definitely a German name, even without the umlaut (Lückenbach).... Translated it would mean something like "gapsbrook".

Edit: there's a small village called Lückenbach in Germany, in Rheinland-Pfalz to be exact:

Yes this was a settlement of Germans and I retired in a near original settlement of Germans. The ranch I was raised on in Southern Texas was a Polish settlement and we were one of two German Families in that area.

The founders were probably immigrants from Rheinland-Pfalz? A nice follow-up trip is then perhaps a travel to the original Lückenbach; apparently they have a "Wald- und Wiesenfest" (Forest and meadow festival) in September:

With "Vegas Music", a barbecue, pea soup and home-made cakes. And of course "Frühschoppen".

Luckenbach is a hoot! I used to go there a couple of times a year. The old Post Office is classic, and they sell lots of t-shirts and other tourist stuff. Also try out Fredricksburg and some of the places to eat there. Garrison Brothers distillery is just down the road as well. Don't miss LBJ park, its nice, very photogenic.

Panna Maria? Lots of Poles and Czechs south of me in Wilson county. My area is mostly old Germans.

Maybe one day if I ever find myself in Texas I'll have to check out that "massive" town.
